Documentary Filmmaking 2

This advanced workshop elaborates on the skills needed to write, produce, shoot, and edit documentary-style video. This course is intended for students who either have previous experience with shooting and editing video (other than on their phones) or completed Doc Film I. Students will explore advanced documentary concepts like pacing, two camera interview set-ups, audio mixing, and advanced editing techniques. They will work in groups to write, produce, shoot, edit, and publish short documentary films.

HSJI’s documentary filmmaking workshops are for students who are interested in film or journalism careers or who work with digital or broadcast student media at their schools.
