Advanced Social Media

Advanced Social Media participants will use popular social media platforms both to report and to engage and develop an audience. They also will learn strategies for promoting Web and print content and for monitoring engagement. By exploring free and inexpensive apps students will learn how to enhance their reporting with smartphones. Using HSJI social media platforms, students in the Advanced Social Media concentration will collaborate with other HSJI Newsroom students to promote projects in the HSJI Newsroom Gallery. Although students must select a concentration (reporting, design, photo/video, or social media) when registering, they will have opportunities to practice multiple forms of journalism.
